Knitting 102: Knit a Brimmed Beanie

What You'll Learn: How to knit a brimmed beanie.

• Learn about gauge swatching
• Learn to use circular needles
• Learn to join/knit in the round
• Learn to purl
• Learn to decrease in the round
• Learn to sew shut a hat/weave in ends

How it Will Work: We will make the a brimmed beanie over the course of 4 weeks.

Materials: Materials are provided. You will receive a skein of hand-dyed Amber Waves yarn (100% merino wool) ($28 value), Lykke circular needles ($12 value), and a set of stitch markers ($7 value).

The materials are yours to keep ($47 total value).

Additionally, you will receive the pattern you need and weekly media/hand-outs to help you practice these skills on your own between classes. 

Skills Needed: Basic knitting skills: cast-on (long tail), knit stitch, and decrease. We can build from these skills.
